Long done when lightness for tired legs
When your legs feel as heavy as lead at the end of the day, the best thing you can do is pour yourself a warm cup of red vine infusion and put your feet up on a cushion. We have always known that sitting or standing for too long, especially when the summer heat sets in, makes our poor limbs feel tired and swollen. It is just the way our bodies react to a long day of work, and it is a very common trouble that many of us share. In the old days, we gathered red vine leaves from the fields to help with this very discomfort. This beautiful plant, with its deep red autumn colours, is traditionally used to support good circulation in the legs. It helps you find that wonderful feeling of lightness when your calves feel tight and weary. We also like to mix it with witch hazel, another traditional leaf that our grandmothers trusted to soothe tired legs and make them feel fresh again. You simply steep these dry leaves in boiling water for ten minutes, breathe in the earthy steam, and drink it quietly in the evening. While you sip your tea, try massaging your legs from your ankles up to your knees with a little cold water. It does you so much good and helps you unwind. Of course, if your legs stay swollen or painful for a long time, it is always wise to show them to your doctor or pharmacist just to be safe.

A splash of cold water in the shower
At the end of your shower, run a stream of cool water from your ankles up to your knees. It wakes up the legs, makes them feel wonderfully fresh, and takes away the tiredness of a long day.

A soothing red vine footbath
Throw a handful of coarse salt and a cup of cooled red vine infusion into a basin of cool water. Soak your feet for ten minutes while massaging your calves upward; it does you a world of good.
